Publix Trip 6/25

I meant to go to Publix and CVS after work so I could go get my free shaving cream - but I think the CVS trip is going to wait until tomorrow. It started raining when I got out of Publix and I REALLY didn't feel like going anywhere else. I have to go by Costco tomorrow anyway to pick up some chicken, so it all worked out. Blown budget..sigh

I had a great plan when I walked into Publix today, but it went downhill fast when I realized the in-laws are coming into town tomorrow for my husband's birthday and I hadn't bought him a cake or anything, and he had asked if I would make homemade enchiladas tonight for dinner as his "birthday dinner". I had to buy the extra ingredients for that since I don't normally have them all at home.
  • Breakstone 24 oz. sour cream, reg. price $2.59, had $1/1 PQ
  • 1 package Eggo waffles, on sale $1.30
  • 1 package Ritz crackerfuls, reg. price $3.29, had FREE item coupon
  • 2 Hungryman meals, on sale $1.79
  • 1 Louana canola oil, on sale $1.70, had $.75/1 MQ
  • 1 Old El Paso taco dinner kit, on sale $1.45, had $.50/1 IP that doubled
  • 3 lemons, on sale $.33/ea
  • Tortillas, reg. price $1.89
  • Bakery key lime pie, reg. price $7.99 (he wanted this instead of cake!)
  • Cheese dip, reg. price $4.39 (ouch! but it makes a Mexican meal SO much better)
Ended up spending $23.15 and saving $14.92, or 39%. Would've been almost 60% without the cheese dip or key lime pie...but hey, his birthday's only once a year and it's still ALOT cheaper than eating out!

Publix, Target, & Rite Aid!

I had a VERY productive day today doing my shopping. I didn't buy a whole lot, but since today was the last day for sales for Target and Rite Aid, I got what I needed before the sale ran out. I didn't take a picture because my camera is dead and I am not quite sure where I have stashed all our batteries!

At Publix I purchased:
  • 2 Green Giant Valley fresh steamers, on sale $1.19, had 2 $.50/1 coupons that doubled
  • 1 Barber Stuffed chicken, on sale $2.50, had $1/1 coupon
  • 1 Yoplait Yo-plus yogurt, on sale $1.25, had $1/1 coupon
  • 1 Uncle Bens Whole grain ready rice, on sale $1.34, had FREE item coupon
  • 2.09 lbs green grapes, on sale $1.99/lb.
  • 5 lb. bag of baking potatoes, on sale $2.50
  • ~1 lb. country style pork ribs, on sale $2.29/lb
Total spent: 11.13 + tax
Total saved: $15.97, or 60%

At Rite Aid I picked up 2 packs of Huggies diapers for a friend who is expecting, my free Butterfinger from facebook, and 1 dozen eggs. I spent $10, will get $2 SCR back, and my friend is paying for the diapers (she doesn't coupon, so I offered to get her some cheap diapers). So it's like I got eggs and a Butterfinger for free!

And at Target I did the Olay deal. Got 2 Regenerist facial cleansers for free + overage after 2 $3/1 coupons and the $5 gift card I received.
